Thrift Drift - O Gauge

Thrift Drift: O - British

Thrift Drift mine.

For the impression of a working colliery as at Earlseat Fife, several drift mines feed into central buildings. The “Pug” shed is based on that at Frances colliery which was also located in Fife.

A loco propels a pair of empty wagons in for loading and through some clever manoeuvres behind the scenes re-emerge loaded with coal. Typical locos could be a Peckett, Sentinel,Barclay or a diesel such as an 03, 05 or 08 shunter.

The TT (3mm/1ft) narrow gauge loco on the upper level has a plastikard bodied approximation of a battery electric loco on a TT
